This quarter LEO Hearted is acknowledging the work of NYPD Detective Tanya Duhaney from the 113th Precinct. She is our quarterly donation recipient (QDR) and will receive a donation from the first quarter's profits. Unbeknownst at the time of announcing her to be recognized by LEO Hearted, it was recently discovered she is also being recognized by the Guardians Association as “Person of the Year”.
Detective Duhaney is currently running one of her major annual events “Prom Impact”, which is a dress and suit drive. Unfortunately, some of the families in her community may not have the extra income to provide those luxuries we many times take for granted. She is asking for new or slightly used dresses or suits to be donated so kids in her community can attend their High School or Jr. High School prom properly dressed.
LEO Hearted will collect and give out any dresses or suits donated up until the Prom Impact event on Saturday May 6th, 2017. We are asking for volunteers to come join us and help out at the event as well. So, if you or anyone you know is interested in making a donation or joining the LEO Hearted volunteer team.
